Released 1958 the year I was born. I loved good ole Doris movies. I really think she was a good gal. My friend met her briefly once at a small hardware store up in Santa Cruz. Said she was very nice. Tall.

I was delighted with the "M*A*S*H" episode where Colonel Potter told Hawkeye and BJ. how he fell in love with Doris Day when he saw her in a nightclub singing with Les Brown and his Band of Renown. "Sometimes I feel guilty that Mildred doesn't know", he said. "But then I always remember -- Doris doesn't know, either."
She is 77 here, my oh my what a beautiful, special lady.

Two legends, who earned their stripes.
Doris Day had a soft, beautiful, calming voice and a cute laugh. She seemed happy. Lucy had a hard, tough intense voice and seemed unhappy. The contrast between the two is striking. I loved and respected them both so much, and miss them.
Actually Lucille Ball had a good career (The Lucy Show) and a good second marriage at the time with Gary Morton. I think her voice reflected her natural voice not the high pitched voice people were used to in I Love Lucy. When I saw pictures of Lucy at the time she seemed very happy - things, in professional and personal life going well for her. 4 years after this interview she starred with Henry Fonda in "Yours, Mine, and Ours", a critical and financial success. (1968) also in 1967 & 1968 won back to back Emmys for the Lucy Show.
Lucy was never the same after her divorce with Desi.

Wow to have two favorites chatting with each other is such a treasure. I did a virtual tour of Doris Day's Auction (Juliens's Auction) which will occur in April 4th and 5th and saw some of items being Auctioned. I was wondering if the auction be televised so the public can watch the bidding. Lucille Ball is so generous in her interactions. Very interesting to learn the two different styles they have in delivering their dialog. Both are such pros and naturals.
Getting To Know You is the perfect song for Doris meeting her fans. It is heartwarming and delightful. It is wonderful to see Howard and Maryann photo. I am truly touched by the 1987 photo of Doris and Mr. Chang. Thank you for posting this treasure.
Doris looks so comfortable and genuine taking photos with collectors. It is a true touching moment when she asked the photographer to take a second picture and then kiss the man on the cheek.

This is a 1965 not a 1964 interview. "Do Not Disturb" did not go into production until January 11, 1965, concluding on April 6, 1965.
